The rules for using our site

Terms of Service

Last updated: September 28, 2026

These terms cover your use of gosolardmv.com, our quote tools and our partner portal. They don't replace the agreement you sign for a solar system - that agreement is what governs your installation.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By using gosolardmv.com, asking for a quote or signing in to our partner portal, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. When we say "we," "us" or "our," we mean Go Solar DMV; "you" means the person using the site.

2. Who we are

Go Solar DMV designs and installs solar for homes, businesses and farms in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., and parts of nearby states, working with local installer and sales partners.

3. Estimates are not offers

  • The figures on our site and in our proposals - your Roof Score, sun maps, system size, production, savings, usage estimates and prices - are estimates. They come from satellite imagery, Google's solar data, public property records, your utility's rates and averages for your area.
  • They can change after a site survey confirms your roof, your electrical service and your local permitting rules.
  • A quote or proposal is not a binding offer. The only agreement between us is the written agreement you sign, and it governs your system, its price and its warranties.
  • Incentives, credits and tax treatment depend on your situation and on laws that change. We are not tax advisors - ask a tax professional about your own taxes.

4. Your information and contacting you

  • We collect and use your information as our Privacy Policy describes.
  • Please give us accurate information. Ask for a quote for your own property, or with the owner's permission.
  • When you ask for a quote, you agree that we and the partner working on your project may contact you about it by email and phone. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.

5. Connecting your utility

Connecting your utility account is optional. The connection runs through Bayou Energy: you sign in on Bayou's form, under Bayou's own terms and privacy policy, and we never see your utility password. You can always type in your bill instead.

6. The partner portal

  • The portal is for Go Solar DMV staff and the installer and sales partners we invite. Keep your sign-in to yourself, and tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
  • Use customer information only for the projects assigned to you, and only to design, sell and install their systems.
  • Public property records shown in the portal are for planning your work. Use them lawfully and respectfully - for example, honor "no soliciting" signs and requests not to be contacted.
  • We can suspend or end portal access that breaks these terms or puts customers at risk.

7. Using the site fairly

Please don't:

  • try to get into accounts, data or parts of the site that aren't yours;
  • copy the site in bulk, scrape it, or run automated lookups of addresses, roofs or sun maps;
  • overload, disrupt or probe the site, or get around the limits we put on it;
  • submit false information, or information about someone else without their permission;
  • use the site for anything unlawful.

8. Our content

The site's text, designs, tools and proposals belong to Go Solar DMV or the people we license them from. You may view, print and keep them for your own project. Aerial imagery and map data belong to Google and its data providers and are shown under their terms.

9. Other services and links

The site uses and links to services run by others - for example Google Maps, Bayou Energy and YouTube. Their own terms and policies apply to them, and we aren't responsible for their content or how they work.

10. Disclaimers

We work to keep the site accurate and running, but we provide it "as is." We can't promise it will always be available, free of errors, or that its estimates will match your final design or your actual savings. Warranties for a solar system are the ones in the agreement you sign.

11. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Go Solar DMV isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses that come from using this website or relying on its estimates. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, or any right you have under an agreement you sign with us.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top, and if a change is significant we'll post a notice on the site. Using the site after an update means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any dispute about them or about the website will be decided by the state or federal courts located in Virginia.

We serve customers in several states. If you live in another of them, nothing in these terms takes away any protection the consumer laws of your state give you.

If something goes wrong, please contact us first - most things are quickest to sort out directly.
